What matters on a business floor?

Staying open, getting back in service and a floor that is safe and easy to keep clean.

A business floor is chosen for how the space is used: the traffic, the spills, the cleaners and the hours you can give up. The walkthrough starts there.

01

Nights or weekends

Work can be booked after hours, over a weekend or one zone at a time so the business keeps running.

02

Back in service

Cure times decide when each area takes foot traffic, carts and forklifts again. Ask for that schedule in writing.

03

Slip resistance

Texture is built into the coating where the floor gets wet or greasy, chosen area by area.

04

Chemicals and stains

The topcoat is matched to the cleaners and fluids the floor sees. Bring the list to the walkthrough.

05

Easy cleaning

A sealed, seamless floor with no grout lines mops clean.

Floors by type of business

Each kind of space asks for something different. These pages go into the details.

Pick the one closest to your space, or send the form and describe it in your own words.

01

Warehouse and industrial floors

Wheels, impact and downtime. The floor has to take forklifts and dropped loads, and the work has to happen without stopping the building.

02

Gym and fitness floors

Grip, cleaning and staying open. Members sweat, spill and drop weights, and the work is planned around the class schedule, with prep, the system and its cure time deciding when each area is used again.

03

Dental and medical office floors

Cleaning, the schedule and how it looks to patients. The floor has to sanitize easily and the practice has to keep seeing patients.

04

Restaurant and commercial kitchen floors

Grip, sanitation and heat. The floor is wet and greasy all day, gets hot water and harsh cleaners, and has to pass inspection.

05

Retail and showroom floors

The look under your lighting, and staying open. The floor sells the space, and the work has to fit around trading hours.

06

Auto shop and service bay floors

Oil, heat, impact and keeping bays open. The floor takes fluids, hot tires, jacks and dropped tools every day.

How is a commercial floor priced?

Per project, after a walkthrough. The existing floor, the system the space needs and when the work can happen change the cost more than the size does.

Ask for the price and the schedule in writing before anything is booked, so you know when each area is back in use.

01

The existing floor

Old coatings, tile, adhesive or oil-soaked concrete all add removal and prep.

02

The system

Impact areas, wet areas and coved edges need more build than a dry walkway.

03

Scheduling

After-hours, weekend or phased work changes the labor plan.

How does the project run?

1

Walkthrough

Someone walks the space with you, asks how it is used and cleaned, checks the slab and talks through the schedule. Ask for the price and the schedule in writing before anything is booked.

2

Moisture test

The slab is tested before a system is chosen, because moisture coming up through concrete is the most common reason coatings lift.

3

Prep

Old coatings and adhesives come off, and the surface is diamond-ground with dust collection so the system bonds into the concrete.

4

Repairs, drains and edges

Cracks and joints are repaired, and coving and drain details are built where the space needs them.

5

Coating system

The base, the texture or color and the topcoat go down, zone by zone if the schedule calls for it.

6

Handover

You walk the floor and get care instructions and the times when each area can take people, equipment and full use.

FAQ

FAQ

Questions owners and managers ask

Can you work while the business stays open?

Usually, yes. The floor is split into zones and done one at a time, often at night or over a weekend, while the rest of the space keeps running. Cure times decide when each area is back in use, so ask for that schedule in writing before anything is booked.

What do you need from me for a quote?

The type of space, roughly how big it is, what is on the floor now, your timeline and whether the space can close for the work. Send those with the form, or call. A walkthrough settles the system and the schedule.

Can I see photos of the floor type I want?

The photos on this page are examples of finished commercial floors, shown for the look. Ask for photos of comparable work and samples on the walkthrough.
